The story of Persephone and Hades is a a classic Greek Mythology. Persephone is the daughter Demeter, who Hades finds very beautiful. So much so that he kidnaps her. This breaks Demeter's heart, and she becomes enraged. Persephone becomes very depressed in the underworld. She does not like Hades and is heartbroken to not be with her mother. Hades begins to notice and strikes up an agreement with Demeter and Persephone. She may stay with her mom half of the year (six months), and then the other half with Hades. They both agree and Persephone starts to learn to enjoy her time in the underworld. Eventually Persephone falls in love with Hades and the get married. Persephone becomes the queen of the underworld and they have two children together: one daughter, Melinoë,and one son, Zagreus. Melinoë became the goddess of nightmares and madness. Zagreus was a minor Greek god.
